Only just replaced it.

I've been looking into NQM and Megablitz as likely candidates for my HO/00 scale actions, but I have also rather liked 'Funny Little Wars' using scales similar to what I have been using here. Such a game system might be preferable to the system I have here, although I quite like the combat systems I have developed (i.e. invented and/or stolen and adapted) for these games.

At the end of January, I got hold of some 1:72mm WW2 Russians - nice figures - from which I assembled 7 NQM-style 'battalions' of 3 rifle stands, 1 mortar stand (light or medium mortar), 1 MMG stand, and 1 Anti-tank rifle stand. There were extra SMG stands (for tank desantski, say) and command/comms figures over which might have given higher command HQ stands.

I still haven't made up my mind where to go with them!

I might do a posting of these as they are...Archduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6650770985225450559.post-1812192944931871372017-05-07T15:44:45.833-07:002017-05-07T15:44:45.833-07:00The looke works for me, Ion. I agree on the scale of the buildings, undersized works quite well here.Corporal_Trimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00376387688651637091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6650770985225450559.post-60336092380627346192015-12-15T01:23:59.941-08:002015-12-15T01:23:59.941-08:00Thanks, Brian. Terrain pieces work best in clusters, I believe, rather than spots, as you point out. A couple of years ago I spent some time making larger scale buildings for my Army men project. I'm beginning to suspect it was wasted effort.
Cheers -Archduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6650770985225450559.post-29072131904606264262015-12-14T23:36:35.499-08:002015-12-14T23:36:35.499-08:00The whole thing looks great and the larger figures...The whole thing looks great and the larger figures don't look out of place with smaller buildings (to me at least), I think if you just had 1 or 2 smaller size buildings dotted around on the table that wouldn't work as well visually as having lots of terrain.

Best wishes, BrianBrian Carrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08221659266588227029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6650770985225450559.post-65317701322228562872015-12-14T11:27:56.602-08:002015-12-14T11:27:56.602-08:00Hope you don't mind! Speaking of which, I must look into the Megablitz thing a bit more closely...
Cheers,
IonArchduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6650770985225450559.post-78126221082574220702015-12-14T06:21:44.849-08:002015-12-14T06:21:44.849-08:00Another game I'm getting the blame for!
