I have for the last two or three months being doing a little ground work for the Second Blacklands War, set to begin some time in the moderately distant future. Hence the addition of a flotilla of six torpedo boats that makes up the Chervenian (Bulgarian) Euxine (Black) Sea fleet (See here).
This second war introduces a new player, Rhumbaba - a vaguely Romanian country north of Chervenia. And that country also had, I discovered a couple of weeks ago, a small naval presence in the Black Sea. This comprised:
- A small cruiser NMS Elisaveta - in size not a lot huger than the Hellenic (Greek) Panthir class torpedo boat destroyers.
- Three very tiny torpedo boats, each carrying a pair of fixed mounted torpedo tubes in the bows.
In these pictures, the Turkcowaz protected cruiser Hamidiye and a Chervenian torpedo boat are added for size comparison. Now, all I have to do is figure out what colours to paint these vessels!
Archduke Piccolo,
ReplyDeleteYou have built up quite some fleet, and I look forward to seeing them in action in the near future.
All the best,
Bob
Hi Bob -
DeleteI keep thinking: 'that's the last' - and then something else pops up on my radar. But I don't intend to expand them any further, and I don't imagine the mini-Navies of Chervenia and Rhumbaba will see very much action - perhaps some convoy work, or the odd raid... Nice to have them though, as it will complicate Turcowaz's position.
But I won't be doing anything with the Second Blacklands War until your Balkans War book comes out.
Cheers,
Archduke Piccolo.
More marvellous ships Ion. Great scratch-building as ever.
